Cast-in-place concrete walls, basement walls and retaining walls
Cast-in-place walls are used where the structure must withstand earth pressure, moisture and water – for example basement walls, retaining walls, lift pits and other below-ground structures.
We deliver watertight, well-drained below-ground structures, from cast-in-place walls to insulated concrete form (Thermomur) walls.
Suitable for
- Villas and apartment buildings with basements
- Plots with level differences that require a retaining wall
- Building projects with lift pits, garages or technical spaces below ground
What can be included
- Cast-in-place walls – formwork, reinforcement and casting of walls
- Basement walls and retaining walls
- Lift pits
- Thermomur (insulated concrete form) walls
- Installation of solid precast concrete walls or double walls
- Watertightness and drainage solutions in consultation with the structural engineer
For a quote we need to know
- Structural drawings with the height, thickness and length of the walls
- Requirements for watertightness and any insulation
- What the site looks like – access, excavation and space for formwork
- Schedule
How the work is done
After reviewing the drawings we plan formwork, reinforcement and casting stages. Casting is done in stages according to the structural requirements, and we review the result with the client before backfilling or the next step.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a cast-in-place wall and Thermomur?
A cast-in-place wall is cast in formwork that is removed afterwards. A Thermomur wall is built with insulating form blocks that remain as part of the wall. Which solution suits depends on the structure and the insulation requirements.
Can you build retaining walls on existing plots?
Yes, tell us about the plot and the level difference. Higher retaining walls usually need to be designed by a structural engineer.
