Grinding and polishing of concrete floors
With diamond grinding, new and existing concrete slabs can get a durable, dust-free and polished surface. Polished concrete floors are hard-wearing and easy to maintain, and are used in industry, retail, garages and stylish homes.
A polished concrete floor is a more environmentally friendly alternative to epoxy and acrylic floors, and the floor can be buffed up again after a long period of use.
Suitable for
- Garages and storage rooms
- Warehouses and industrial premises
- Shops and other commercial premises
- Homes where you want concrete as the visible floor surface
What can be included
- Grinding of newly cast slabs
- Grinding and renovation of existing concrete floors
- Polishing to the desired gloss level
- Refreshing previously polished floors
For a quote we need to know
- The floor area in square metres
- Whether the slab is new or existing and how it is used today
- Whether there is paint, glue, coatings or damage that must be removed
- Desired appearance and gloss level
- Whether the premises are empty or in use during the work
How the work is done
We look at the condition of the floor and agree on the desired result. The floor is then ground in several steps with progressively finer diamond tools until the surface has the desired finish.
Frequently asked questions
Can an old concrete floor be ground?
Often, yes. The result depends on the quality and condition of the concrete, and on whether there are coatings or damage. We assess the floor before quoting.
Why choose polished concrete instead of epoxy?
Polished concrete uses the concrete itself as the wearing surface, with no extra coating. The surface is hard-wearing, easy to maintain and can be refreshed by buffing. Ground concrete floors are a more environmentally friendly alternative.
